WYE MARSH, ONTARIO: BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY 101 / RAPTOR FLIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY WITH DAVID HEMMINGS
I often run into other bird photographers in the field and get asked many different questions about camera settings, light, techniques, etc. I have designed Bird Photography 101 to address, answer and teach all of the important basics on how to effectively use that wonderful new digital camera equipment that you have purchased.
Learn the basics of your camera functions and how to apply them in the field. Understand aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how they work together and what each one does to your image We will spend the morning in the classroom and then head outside for some shooting!.Equipment requirements, what do I need? Learn how to shoot your subject with proper lighting, composition, aperture settings, shutter speed and ISO functions. Subjects: Birds of Wye Marsh and select raptors from the resident falconer.

CHURCHILL, CANADA: BREEDING BIRDS OF THE ARCTIC...UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL.
In this fantastic workshop we will have the opportunity to photograph many species of shorebirds and ducks. Species include Red Necked Phalaropes, Eiders and Scoters in breeding plumage and nesting Arctic Terns. Pacific Loons, Long Tailed Ducks and Common Mergansers will be abundant and photo opps will be everywhere!
We will be shooting a Pacific Loon nest from blinds as well as visiting a foxes den to shoot Rec Fox up close and personal! We will also have opportunities to shoot the beautiful Arctic Hare.
There will be plenty of opportunities for flight shots as well as portrait. I will teach you everything you need to know to capture that coveted action photo!

Travel to Little and Greater Rann of Kutch where our expert and experienced guides will take you to many exciting and wonderful spots in the grasslands for awesome photo opps of the following species: Brahiminy Kite, Crested Goshawk, Pallid Harrier, Montague's Harrier, Euarasian Hobby, etc!
Next day travel to other grasslands where we may spot and photograph the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard other endangered vultures and many other chances at different birds of prey!
We will also visit one of the only places in the world where you can photograph the globally threatened Asiatic Wild Ass. We will also see and have chances to photograph Imperial Eagles, Steppe Eagles,Greater Spotted Eagles and the endangered Macqueen Bustards!

BELIZE: UNSPOILED NATURAL BEAUTY...
Truly a bird photographer’s paradise, Belize is a small country that you can drive from the most northern part to the southern tip within one full day and offers diverse landscapes from savannas, jungle, tropical settings, mountain pine forests and stunning waterfalls. Due to the size of this country, bird photography, birding, and sightseeing opportunities are endless.
Experience a wide variety of habitats and 587 bird species. Belize is home to a variety of raptors including the endangered Orange Breasted Falcon, Plumbeous Kite, Harpy Eagle, Bat Falcons and the Ornate Hawk Eagle. The accommodations include jungle lodges, cabanas and a pine lodge in a region with one of the highest concentration of wildcats in Belize. Some accommodations include outdoor hot tubs which is wonderful after a full day of shooting and hiking.

In this exciting workshop we will spend time in some of the most bird abundant and beautiful places on earth! India is a vast country with diverse ecosystems such as rainforests, deserts, grasslands, deciduous and evergreen forests, and a long coastline. This wide variety of habitats is home to approximately 1400 species of birds. Apart from the resident species a huge number of migratory birds arrive in the country every year during the winter from as far as Siberia and Europe.
In short, it is a paradise for birds. Apart from the spectacular avian life, this country is home to one of the world's richest array of wildlife, probably even comparable to the great African bush. Tigers, Elephants, Panthers, Rhinos, Asiatic Lions, Snow Leopards, Sloth Bears, Wild Dogs, and the list goes on. It just takes a visit to one of the many wildlife sanctuaries and national parks that lie scattered all over the country, to be amidst these magnificent animals of the wild.

Taking a break from birds, we will visit one of Vancouver Islands most beautiful temperate rainforests to capture stunning landscape images. Finally, we will also have an opportunity to observe and photograph Killer Whales!

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP WORKSHOPS WITH GLENN BARTLEY
Digital photography has opened up a whole new realm of possibilities for nature photographers, made learning, while out in the field, much more intuitive, and in my opinion, made photography a lot more enjoyable.
The ability to take hundreds, if not thousands, of images in a single day has certainly increased the potential for capturing a pleasing image.
However, for many photographers the digital darkroom is still a somewhat scary place. Sorting through gigabytes of images, figuring out which software programs to use and trying to establish a digital workflow can be daunting tasks.
